Dear Praying Friends and Faithful Supporters,

It is exciting to see God work in people’s lives and see the spiritual growth that can only come through a relationship with God. Over the past couple months, we have had a few baptisms, and people that we have been able to lead to the Lord, and that is honestly the most exciting part of our ministry. Those highlights help to keep us motivated as the month of October can be one of the hardest here in the ministry. It is usually very hot and dry, as everyone is waiting for the long awaited rainy season to return. This can even affect church attendance as the heat can be a deterrent for some to come.

We thankfully were able to replace our vehicle after the whole situation with our mechanic (who I obviously don’t use anymore). The month of September also allowed us to have in our very first missionary at the church whom the church voted to take on. This was so exciting for us in the ministry to see the church take a step of faith and look beyond themselves and seek to share the gospel to regions beyond. The missionary we supported is located on Lake Tanganyika at the last Zambian village before the Congo. Many of the members of his church are actually Congolese, and they travel back and forth between the Congo and Zambia on a regular basis. It was exciting for me, because that is the location that God originally used to burden my heart for Zambia. Although God didn’t allow me to be there in person, we are able to have direct part in that ministry through support from a local church in Zambia.

In October, we had our two year anniversary of the chartering of the church. We had a baptism as well, and it was so exciting for us to be able to celebrate and see where God brought us - from a little tent in a vacant plot, to our own property with our own building. We had no idea how God would do that, but because of you, our faithful supporters and prayer partners, here is a church in the southern part of the largest city of Zambia preaching the gospel and reaching their community.

Then towards the end of the month, God allowed me to have the opportunity to travel with David Barnhouse, who I had the privilege of doing my internship with 11 years ago, up to Lake Tanganyika. It was so exciting to see where God has brought that whole ministry. When we went there in 2014, there were no Bible preaching churches in that entire area, and now praise the Lord while we were there we put the roof on church number six. It is amazing to see how God has grown the ministry. The trip with Bro. Barnhouse and his team was such an encouragement to me, and it also opened a door of opportunity for me to continue serving up there. Please pray for me as we make some plans for next year; God has opened a door to help with some pastor refresher courses up there at the lake. This will take place prayerfully three times next year. The pastors have asked to do a study of I and II Timothy, and I am really looking forward to it. It will take some finances to manage, but we know that God will help us as we believe that this is vital to the growth of the pastors and their churches.

The past two months have not been without their challenges. The country is continuing to struggle with power production, and there seems to be no hope in sight. We are now down to a promised three hours of power a day, and it only comes in the middle of the night. Thankfully we have solar and have learned to adjust our lives accordingly, but it does create its own challenges and difficulties. My wife also had typhoid and then a typhoid relapse which is primarily related to the power and water issues, which significantly impact cleanliness in the city. Thankfully she has recovered, but we are trying to be very careful and avoid having that again. I also have had some back issues which have made things a bit difficult, and we are trying to exercise wisdom with the proper procedure. We are monitoring the issue, and I am hoping to postpone any major decisions till our next furlough.

We appreciate your prayers because God is working, and we have seen God answer prayers and open doors. The Lord is still on the throne and we can trust Him. Thank you.

Serving together with you, Caleb, Abby, Rosalie, Oliver, Henry, and Isabelle Robinson
