Blessings in the Ministry: We have seen the church grow steadily, and we are thankful for the new families God has brought to us. We had the privilege of baptizing a couple recently who had been attending the church for some months. We are seeing some growth in these individuals, which is always a blessing. The past couple of months, we have also seen some growth in the men of the church who are serving as leaders and will be the future leaders in the years to come. I have been having some of these men deliver the devotions for our men’s prayer breakfast, and I am looking forward to hearing them preach in the months to come. Pray for us as we begin preparing these men for church leadership. This is the most challenging period as we begin to transfer control and leadership roles. We also have had the privilege to do a pastor’s training in a village about eight hours from our house, which was a wonderful opportunity to serve and see God using future Zambian pastors as they reach their villages.
Future Events: We hope to have major church events in August and September. I am trying to plan a Vacation Bible School, Youth Rally, and Church Conference. Please be in prayer for each of these, as they are really important for the health of the church and its growth. We had a great service around Easter, and it was good to see the excitement of the people around the resurrection of Christ.
Furlough: We have decided, through communication with our pastor and sending church, to come back on furlough in November of this year. We really just need to get some answers to the health issues we have been dealing with. We will schedule some meetings as well, so if you would like us to report to your church, please get in touch with us soon so that we can schedule accordingly. We will need to take some time to get the doctors’ visits in as well, but we would like to update you all about the ministry.
Current Pressing Needs: The currency fluctuations in Zambia have been very difficult for the past year and have made everything go up in cost drastically. Just with the currency, we have lost 30% of our buying power in the country, which has made it very expensive to operate. On top of this, we have had several unexpected expenses that have arisen, which have made the financial situation more strained. We have had to replace our borehole pump at the church and are paying for a new zoning conflict issue that arose, as well as other paperwork issues that have arisen. We have a few very specific needs that have arisen in the last two months that we would ask you to consider praying about or helping in if God leads you. Firstly, we have had some vehicle repairs that had to be done simply because of the terrible roads in the country. They are so hard on the vehicles, and we spend quite a bit on maintaining or repairing vehicles every month. Some of the new needs with this have been upwards of $8000 dollars, which is quite difficult to take care of. We are also planning these Pastors’ Trainings, which are important, but it also costs a good bit to make these happen, as the location is very remote and transportation is difficult. These trips are important for our ministry, but cost about $3,000 per trip to happen. Between these ministry opportunities and vehicular and church expenses, we have become limited in what more we can do. We ask that you consider how or in what way you can help this ministry to continue. We are seeking to be good stewards of our finances in any way we can, but we have just come to the end of our limit, though we know we serve a great God who can supply our needs beyond what we could imagine.
Serving together with you, Caleb, Abby, Rosalie, Oliver, Henry, and Isabelle Robinson
