May/June 2026 Prayer Letter

Dear Prayer Partners and Supporters,

We are deeply grateful for your faithful support and prayers for our ministry. The ministry, as always, keeps us busy and involved, and we are thankful for the spiritual growth in the church and the members. It has been a slow, steady growth, but vital to the stability of the church. June is one of our coldest months typically, and it proved to be so again this year, although cold is relative, as we now are “cold” if the temperature is in the 60s.

In my last prayer letter, I mentioned the financial needs for the pastors’ training, and I am so thankful for many of you, our faithful supporters, for your willingness to partner with this opportunity. As I write this, I have just returned from the trip last week and we had such a wonderful opportunity to serve the ministries up there along Lake Tanganyika. I was able to take three men from my church with me on the trip, who were an encouragement to me as I taught, and also an encouragement to the men in their ministries up there. The pastors were there with their respective deacons or leaders in their churches, and we taught through the book of 1 Timothy for the entire week. The blessing of being able, with your generous giving to the Lord’s work, to make this trip and involve the men from my church can not fully be expressed, so all I can say is thank you.

I have been spending time with individual men in the church in a variety of ways, trying to disciple, encourage, and strengthen them in their spiritual walk. These men are the future of this church, and I am thankful for each one’s specific role in the ministry.

The church programs have been continuing steadily, and my wife had a wonderful special Bible study for the ladies in May that was well attended and received. We have been continuing with our men’s Bible studies, ladies’ Bible studies, youth Bible Studies and other various ministry programs. It keeps us busy, but we are also trying to balance our time well for our family as well.

The next two months are going to be very busy with ministry and national elections. We ask that you would be in special prayer about these things. Specifically, we will be having our second annual youth rally on August 8th, and I am excited to see what God will do in that conference and how he will help these young people to grow in their walk with the Lord. I have scheduled Pastor Ackim Mulaisho, a Zambian pastor friend of mine from Kalalushi, which is about seven hours from us to preach for this conference, and I am sure it will be a blessing. We have also invited some other Baptist churches of like faith to come to the conference, and we should have a good number. Please pray that God will be glorified.

On August 13, we will have the presidential elections in Zambia, so please be in prayer for the process and that things will go smoothly. Zambia is usually a very peaceful country, but there has already been a bit of unrest with the elections so far. We pray that it will proceed smoothly, and that things will quickly return to normal after the election.

The last week of August, we are planning on having our Vacation Bible School. We hope this can be a huge blessing to our youth and a great opportunity for the gospel to be declared. Pray that this can proceed as planned, since we do have a possibility of the election results being decided a week or so after the actual election day. Our prayer is that this does not disturb our programs.

On September 5th, we have our church conference, which I am really excited about. We had the church vote on the theme, and we will be studying the armor of God. Please pray that God gives wisdom, and that we can have a good time of fellowship and growth.

Thank you so much for your prayers, as we definitely need them over the next few months. Thank you for your support for the ministry. Honestly, without you, we could hardly do any of what God has allowed us to do this year. Please pray for our return for furlough later this year, and that we can get the necessary doctor’s visits in and get the necessary answers. I have already been able to schedule a doctor’s appointment with an orthopedic doctor the very same week we land, so pray for answers. Thank you all. God bless.
