Oct/Nov/Dec 2023 Prayer Letter

Dear Prayer Partners and Supporters,

I think I have somehow failed to send out a prayer letter for the past couple months and definitely got out of my rhythm of sending. I am so sorry, as I try to be as punctual as possible.

Where do we begin? The past few months have been extremely busy. On October 15th of 2023 we were able to hold our official charter Sunday. This is where we organized the church as a formal group of believers under a constitution in order to provide stability and accountability. We praise the Lord that we had many visitors on that Sunday. Since then, the church has continued to grow and we have seen consistent visitors to the services. We have since shifted from our first venue to a private school hall that we are renting for the time being. It is very close to the plot of land that we have purchased for the church. Please continue to pray for the church as we grow spiritually and teach, as well as those that we reach in the community. We have several core members which have provided us a backbone for the church and are meeting with other individuals about membership over the coming weeks.

The church land that we purchased has been totally finalized, and we have proceeded with the building projects. We drilled the well and have put in drainage, and are working on landscaping and building next. The rainy season can provide a bit of a challenge to get some things done, but these things are necessary to get the landscape part of the project finished. We want to say thank you again to all of our supporters that have helped with some of these projects. We will be hopefully sharing video and picture updates on the projects as they develop.

We have been working on the church registration and are thankful that we are one step closer, but still have a ways to go. Unfortunately, the bureaucracy makes this a delay and tests my patience sometimes.

We praise the Lord for getting all of Henry's paperwork, including his passport, which took much longer then anticipated, but we are thankful that process has been finished. The Lord has been good to us in many ways, and we thank Him for our children.

My ministry in Rufunsa is on a break due to the rainy season, and all the men attending to work in the fields. This is an essential part of their livelihood, and so they must attend to it. The rains at the beginning of the season were not good, and we were fearing a drought, but the past couple weeks has seemed to bring a reprieve and I think we will have a good rainy season. Please pray for good rains as this is an essential part of the economy in many aspects, no matter what your occupation is. I am looking forward to getting back out with the guys, but I am using my time to focus on the building projects now.

We are thankful for your prayers and support, and hope that your churches have been good over the holiday season. As we roll into the new year, we are looking forward to seeing how God will use us in the ministry here. Please pray for wisdom in decisions we make for the ministry here, and that God would open the opportunities that He sees fit.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and God Bless.
